As Term Three draws to a close, I am grateful for the energy, commitment, and spirit that have defined our Loyola community over the past fortnight.
From academic achievements to community engagement, our students and staff continue to embody the values of Cura Personalis (care for each person) and Ignatian service.
MACSIS Survey – Parent Voice
As part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and community engagement, we invite all parents to participate in the MACSSIS (Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys). This important survey provides families with the opportunity to share feedback on their experiences at Loyola College and help shape the direction of our school. A personalised survey link has been emailed to each parent, and we encourage everyone to take a few moments to complete it.
Your insights are invaluable in helping us understand what we are doing well and where we can grow, ensuring that Loyola continues to be a place of excellence, inclusion, and faith-filled learning.
Father & Son Breakfast – A Morning of Gratitude
Held in honour of Father’s Day, our Father & Son Breakfast brought warmth and reflection to the Loyola campus. The morning included a shared meal and a Prayer of Thanksgiving in the Old Loyola Chapel, with proceeds supporting The Men's Project – Jesuit Social Services. It was a beautiful celebration of fatherhood and connection.
Men Alive – Raising Fathers
On Wednesday, 3 September, we hosted the Men Alive – Raising Fathers event, titled “Fathering from the Front Line.” Fathers and father figures explored the joys and challenges of parenting, gaining practical insights and spiritual encouragement. We thank the Men Alive team for their inspiring message and support of our community.
Year 7 Character Strengths Evening
Our Year 7 families joined us for an evening focused on Positive Education and the VIA Character Strengths. Students shared their strengths profiles and explored how traits like kindness, perseverance, and curiosity support wellbeing and learning. The evening reinforced our commitment to nurturing the whole person.
Masterplan Consultation – Shaping Loyola’s Future
Over the past three weeks, B2 Architecture has been actively engaging with key stakeholder, staff, students, and parents, as part of the initial consultation phase for Loyola College’s new Asset Masterplan. These collaborative sessions have provided valuable insights into the aspirations and needs of our community, helping to shape a shared vision for the future of our learning environment. From classroom functionality to wellbeing spaces and outdoor areas, every voice has contributed to a deeper understanding of what will best support teaching, learning, and community life at Loyola.
We are grateful for the thoughtful contributions made so far and look forward to continuing this journey together as we plan for a vibrant and future-focused campus.
Presentation Ball – an Evening to Shine
As we look ahead to the Presentation Ball on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 September, I would like to extend my best wishes to all participating students. After many weeks of rehearsal, they are now ready to display their newly acquired dance skills to a supportive audience of family and friends. This event is a celebration of growth, confidence, and connection, and we commend each student for what they have achieved in such a short time. We look forward to enjoying their presentation and sharing in the joy of this special occasion.
A reminder that the college does not endorse any post event gatherings.
As we approach the final weeks of term, I encourage all students to remain focused, embrace the opportunities ahead, and continue to support one another. Thank you to our families for your ongoing partnership and engagement.
