Loyola’s First Team at the 2026 Parliamentary Convention

At the end of Term 3, a group of Year 10 and 11 students proudly represented Loyola College for the first time at the 2026 Parliamentary Convention, held at Marymede Catholic College.

This year’s topic asked students to consider whether digital devices should be limited in schools because they cause more harm than benefit to students’ learning and wellbeing. Throughout the day, students engaged directly with expert speakers, asking insightful questions and gaining valuable perspectives on this contemporary issue.

Students also participated in small-group discussions, where they respectfully challenged ideas, explored differing viewpoints, and worked collaboratively to analyse the topic. As part of the convention, each group developed a shared position and presented its conclusions to the wider audience.

The experience provided an excellent opportunity for students to strengthen their critical thinking, communication and leadership skills while engaging in meaningful civic discussion.

We congratulate the following students for representing Loyola College: Ginevra Agliano (11MESH), Asher Bryans (11XBAM), Kai Coppolino (11AAM), Mia Fenga (10ATBR) and Marco Parpinel (10KAST).
